First Year of Service
Kelsey is the Coordinator of Events and Experiences at Step Up. Her passion for putting together one-of-a-kind, inspirational events has led her to work in the events industry in various capacities over the last five years. Prior to joining Step Up, Kelsey worked as an events coordinator for a non-profit contemplative retreat center in New York’s Hudson Valley. Before that she was an administrative assistant at arts & culture nonprofit Arts Westchester and Manhattanville College. In these roles, she gained experience in communications, university level volunteer programming, and event production. In a past life, she was a wardrobe stylist assistant, with a focus on social and cultural demographic research to bring characters in MadeInNY films to life. Additionally, she was a public relations production coordinator for fashion and interior design collection launches.
Kelsey has a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from SUNY Purchase College, a Fashion Journalism Certificate from the University of Arts London, and a 200hr Meditation Teacher Training Certificate from a Tibetan Buddhism studio in NYC. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, hiking, her monthly book club, and trying out new vegan restaurants.
What has your mentor taught you?
Having faced many challenges early on in life, I’ve learned to rely on something my mom stresses, “But…what if it all goes right?” it is incredibly powerful and freeing. When climbing the many mountains life reveals to us, remember to leave some space for the unexpected good!
