Melissa Stumpf serves as Step Up's director of finance. She has been dedicated to Step Up since 2006, first as a consultant and then as a full time employee, and has almost 20 years of experience in finance and bookkeeping for nonprofit organizations.
Melissa has focused much of her career on entities that improve and enhance the education of our youth. She started her finance career at ArtShare, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit centered around providing arts education to youth in under-resourced communities, and continued this work at several Los Angeles nonprofits including Pete Carroll's A Better LA, Brightstar Schools, and The Wilshire Boulevard Temple's schools and camps. She has been a long term partner and supporter of Step Up, where she has demonstrated unflagging zeal in ensuring every single dollar goes as far as it can in the service of Step Up's mission of support and encouragement to young women.
Outside of her career, Melissa is an avid cook and can never resist the alluring call of a farmer's market. She thrives on musical theater and indeed, focused much of her undergraduate work in that field. She enjoys travel, art and spending time with her family and friends. As a former Los Angeles resident and recent Ohio re-transplant, Melissa is always looking for new ways to connect and engage with her community.
